Powder snow in early winter and wonderful spring snow tours starting in February will make the hearts of ski tourers beat faster. The ski resorts of the Europa Sports Region Zell am See – Kaprun, with its glacier, and the Ski Circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn are only a few minutes by car from our chalets. A free ski bus takes you daily from your chalet to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Zell am See ski regions.

Even off the slopes, you can stay active with us. A perfectly groomed cross-country ski trail network leads our cross-country skiers from Maishofen to Saalfelden and Maria Alm. A toboggan ride through the snow-covered landscape on one of our toboggan runs promises an unforgettable experience and lots of fun for both young and young-at-heart.

Recharge your energy with walks through the snow-covered forests or around Lake Zell. Or enjoy one of the winter hiking trails on Schmittenhöhe, at an altitude of around 2000 meters, along the mountain ridge.

An unforgettable experience and special fun: snowshoe hiking on Schmittenhöhe with expert guidance. And if you want something more comfortable? How about a horse-drawn sleigh ride, wrapped in warm blankets, through a magical winter wonderland.

The Zell am See – Kaprun ski pass gives you access to 408 kilometers of slopes and 121 cable cars. In addition to the Schmittenhöhe and the family-friendly Maiskogel mountain, the famous glacier offers guaranteed snow from October to May, as well as the connection via the Glemmtal Valley to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski area.

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang

Not least because of the Alpine Ski World Championships in 1991 and 2025, this ski area enjoys worldwide fame.

Under the motto "100% Best of Snow," Austria's largest ski resort, Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn, offers all winter sports enthusiasts 270 km of perfectly groomed slopes with panoramic views, as well as 70 modern lift systems. A free ski bus from our chalets will take you to the snow paradise just 10 km away. With the new connection to Schmittenhöhe/Zell am See, a total of 408 kilometers of slopes and 121 lift systems await you in Austria’s largest ski area.

The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier ski resort attracts skiers and snowboarders, powder enthusiasts, ski tourers, cross-country skiers, winter hikers, and freestylers from autumn to well into spring.

Maishofen – Cross Country Skiing / Skiing

Children and beginner skiers will find the perfect conditions for their first turns in the snow at the practice lift in Maishofen near Schloss Kammer. Thanks to an artificial snowmaking system, snow reliability is guaranteed.

Cross-Country Skiing:
Maishofen offers an extensive cross-country ski trail network with signage and a guiding system, as well as a floodlit trail, making it a paradise for cross-country skiers. The Maishofen cross-country trails are connected to the Saalfelden trail network, which in recent years has become a true hub for cross-country skiing and biathlon in Austria.
Here, you’ll find 150 km of top-maintained trails for all levels and styles. These trails lead all the way to neighboring towns like Maria Alm, Leogang, or to the biathlon World Cup metropolis Hochfilzen.
