The Ski & Golf World Championship in Zell am See-Kaprun promises a unique fusion of skiing and golf. Top athletes from all over the world compete in both sports to win the unique title of Ski & Golf World Champion.
Zell am See-Kaprun, famous for its wonderful alpine scenery and first-class sports facilities, serves as the backdrop for this spectacle. Athletes put their technical skills to the test on the challenging pistes of the Kitzsteinhorn, and compete with speed and endurance in the giant slalom in the skiing part of the World Championship. Leaving the snow-covered pistes behind, the athletes switch to the golf course, where precision and tactical skill are required. The region's golf course boasts a spectacular backdrop with view of the majestic glacier. Participants battle for victory on the green of the Leading Golf Course.

Magic Lake Show

The water moves to the beat of the music, laser and light installations illuminate the evening sky: in the summer season from 15 May, Lake Zell becomes the stage for the Magic Lake Show every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. This water show for the whole family is a magical combination of water, light, music and laser, and turns your evening walk into an experience.
Beside the regular shows you can experience short daily shows - daily from 15th May every full hour from 1pm to 6pm.

The custom of erecting fire on the mountains to the astronomical summer begins dates back to the 12th century, to ward off evil demons, and to promote growth and fertility.

TriZell Triathlon
06.07.2025
On 6th July 2025, endurance athletes and fans of triathlon sports will get their money's worth again. The TriZell, an international triathlon, is entering its 36th round in Zell am See-Kaprun. The Olympic distance consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run. The Sprint distance covers 750 meters swimming, 20 kilometers on bike and 5 kilometers of running.
This year, the start and finish areas are in and around the Thumersbach lido with a view of the center of Zell am See, the Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn.

Mystical night of water

From 7th July to 8th September 2025 every Monday a very special, mystical and stunning night-time spectacle brings the Sigmund Thun Gorge to life. Parents and children alike look forward to a romantic, impressive adventure full of atmosphere when starting a guided hiking tour through the gorge on the Mystical Night of Water. Together we listen to the roaring of the water in the canyon, admire the strangely illuminated rocks and hike along the 340-m long wooden construction through the night – what a fantastic experience!

Glemmride Bike Festival

From 9th to 13th July 2025, the eighth GlemmRide Bike Festival will happen in the Bike Eldorado Saalbach Hinterglemm. A weekend full of bike action with the Masters of Dirt - Big Air Shows, Downhill, Expo and a full programme of side events is waiting for you!
The GlemmRide timetable caters to everything experienced and enthusiastic bikers could possibly want.

Castle Festival

The "Kaprun Castle Society" hosts the Castle Festival again this year. It has long been the most renowned mediaeval festival amongst friends of the Middle Ages. Visitors come from far and near. More than 4.000 guests could experience the everyday life of knights and nobility from many hundred years ago. Varied day and evening programs, with more than 400 participants, ensure visitors a range of activities in and around Kaprun Castle.
2025 the castle festival starts on Friday evening at 5:00 pm with a market spectacle (jugglery, artistic shows, concert, fire show).

Nostalrad - Nostalgic Bike Event

Harvest Village Festival Maishofen

Folk costumes, handcrafts & a packers parade. Each year at the end of August, the traditional Harvest festival takes place. Guests and locals can enjoy and observe folk music, customs, folk costumes, everyday culture, and traditional handcrafts from new perspectives. The highlight is the traditional Harvest Parade with local heritage societies, the folk band, ceremonial militia, firefighters, and colorful folk costume groups – from everyday dirndls to splendid outfits saved for special occasions. Packers were the first “haulage companies” over the Alps, and carried important supplies to the mountain valleys on the backs of horses or mules. Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun

In 2025, the famous IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun, Bruck, Maishofen, Piesendorf will take place on 31st of August 2025. The competition is part of the world series and is known as one of the toughest sport endurance events in the world. Athletes will swim 1,9 km in the beautiful Zeller lake, cycle 90 km along the picturesque landscape of the mountains and run 21,2 km along the lake to finish in Zell am See.

26th World Games of Mountainbiking
04.09. - 07.09.2025
With altitudes between 1,000 and 2,100 metres, the grass-covered mountains of the Pinzgau Grasberge provide the ideal conditions for the competition.
GO TO THE LIMITS
The 21 kilometres distance with 880 height metres is ideal for first timers and those who race for the first time. Also rookies are welcome to compete in this distance.
You need stamina and a high level of fitness for the marathon. Rookies can take part in the shortest course with 31 kilometres at an altitude of 1,160 m. Anyone who thinks they can do more can take part in the marathon with 42 kilometres and an altitude of 1.980 or even choose the longer distance of 58 kilometres at an altitude of 2,920 metres. Ambitious bikers can push their limits along the entire marathon route stretching 80 kilometres and at an altitude of 3,678 m.
Spectators cheer on the bikers at the finish line as well as at the highest points of the route – on the Westgipfel and Schattberg summits.
KIDS ON BIKES
Boys and girls compete against each other again in six different age categories for the Junior Trophy. The Rookies can try the first time the new marathon distance of 21 km and an altitude of 880 meters.

Spartan Trifecta & Ultra Weekend

The Spartans are coming! From 12th to 14th September 2025, thousands of Spartans will face the challenges of the Spartan Trifecta Weekend in Austria.
The Spartan Race obstacle race invites all children, teenagers and adults to push their limits. The Spartan Race is the biggest outdoor playground for adults.
The first Spartan Race took place in Vermont in the United States. Now There are over 150 races in nearly 20 countries.
The different distances allow anyone and everyone to participate: There are the following variants: 5 kilometres and 20 obstacles (Sprint), 10 kilometres and 25 obstacles (Super), and half marathon and 30 obstacles (Beast). In addition, the Kids Open Heat with three different distances will be offered for all young Spartans.
Parallel to the race there will be the Spartan Festival that is provided for entertainment outside the races.
